World Class IVF Treatment at Chennai

In Vitro Fertilization commonly referred to as IVF is an assisted reproductive technology.  The main process of this technology is fertilization by extracting eggs, retrieving a sperm sample and then in a laboratory dish it is manually combined. Then the embryo is transferred to the uterus. One of the best infertility treatments is done at billroth research fertility center in Chennai,India,

Why IVF is used?

IVF can be used to infertility of the following conditions:
  • Women with ovulation disorders, premature ovarian failure, uterine fibroids
  • Women who have had their fallopian tubes removed
  • Individuals with a genetic disorder
  • Unexplained infertility
  • Blocked or damaged fallopian tubes
  • Male factor infertility including decreased sperm count or sperm motility

In IVF there are five basic steps and embryo transfer process:

Step 1: To stimulate the egg production Fertility medications are prescribed. Blood test samples are taken to check hormone levels and a transvaginal ultrasound is used to examine the ovaries.

Step 2: The eggs are retrieved using a hollow needle which is guided by an ultrasound imaging and is inserted through the pelvic cavity. Medication is provided to reduce and remove potential discomfort.

Step 3: The male is asked to produce a sample of sperm, which is prepared for combining with the eggs.

Step 4: The sperm and eggs are mixed together and stored in a laboratory dish to encourage fertilization by a process called insemination. In some cases, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) may be used where there is a lower probability of fertilization. To confirm that fertilization and cell division are taking place the eggs are monitored and the fertilized eggs are considered embryos once this occurs.

Step 5: Three to five days following egg retrieval and fertilization, the embryos are transferred into the woman’s uterus. To transfer the embryos, a catheter or small tube is inserted into the uterus. The implantation typically occurs around six to ten days following egg retrieval, if the procedure is successful.

Overcome Infertility and Build Your Family

In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is an Assisted Reproductive Technology for treating infertility. Due to various reasons eg. unhealthy eggs, unhealthy and non-motile sperms, no proper ovulation cycle the chances of fertility decreases and IVF is significantly carried for the female who is not able to carry out fertilization within her. This procedure is done outside of the body.

http://www.billrothhospitals.com/ivf-institute/in-vitro-fertilisation-ivf.html

Some tests will be recommended for the couple and if the female has no or low ovulation, then she will be administered with drugs to stimulate ovulation. Till the follicles reach a desired size injections are given and then eggs are retrieved from the ovaries. The matured eggs are injected in healthy, motile sperms by another method called Intra-Cytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI). In this procedure, a single sperm is directly injected into a single egg. This injected egg will be kept carefully in a Petri dish in the laboratory till the fertilization has occurred.

Soon after the fertilization has occurred, the embryo is transferred into the woman’s uterus to treat for a successful pregnancy. After transferring the embryos it will attach to the uterine wall. If the process fails, again the process IVF proceeds.

Our vast knowledge and experience ensure high success rates of live birth for parents with artificial reproductive technique. The high-end equipment and facilities available at our hospitals provide prompt reports and treatments.

Depends on the age we divide the pregnancy chances in IVF as
  • Women aged 35 and below – The chances of pregnancy are between 35-50 percent.
  • Women aged between 35 and 38 – Chances go down to about 20-25 percent.
  • Women aged between 38 to 41 years – Chances of 10%.
We, at Billroth hospital, do not compromise on the norms when it comes to the patients and their treatment. We deliver healthy babies thru artificial reproductive technique as same as who are as naturally conceived and delivered babies. We intensively carry out the technique with international standard equipment to save the eggs, sperms, and embryos from damage. It reduces the rate of defects, abnormalities, and delayed development.
